Love, Hate, Fitness

Right around the time I turned 30 I realized I really hated “working out,” which made it really hard for me to stick to any exercise program or regimen long term.

The feeling of walking into a large gym aggravated me. That type of gym where men gawk at you for every squat rep, the showers are dirty, and being the only woman in the free weights section gives you an uncomfortable feeling.  It always turns me off. I enjoy boutique gyms but they’re way too expensive. Yoga is great, but after a stressful day or week, I just can’t seem to turn my mind off enough to be relaxed and benefit from the classes.

So now, I have boxing.

I always enjoyed watching the sport and am fascinated by the people who dominate it. So one day I decided to give it a try. I fell in love with it right away.

It’s my stress reliever after a long week and my go to place for alone time (even though I’m not alone). According to my trainer I got that natural snap and a mean hook. I’m a work in progress.

Tears of Joy

Call me crybaby Nat. I find myself crying tears of joy at least a few times a week. I started crying today watching my son run around in a park, picking tomatoes from a planter.

He’s so innocent and scrumptious I wish I could keep him this small. Moms, do you find yourself getting emotional as often as I do? What makes you emotional?
